"Dave Bautista might be able to bench press the combined weight of the rest of the cast in this inept action comedy – but he sure as hell can’t carry a movie. He plays Vic, a driven police detective who is temporarily unable to drive (laser eye surgery has rendered him practically blind)."

"Every so often, a movie opens that you’re sure you and some friends plotted out on a bar napkin once upon a late night. You know that bigger-than-life picture: It’s the movie-I’ll-never-make fantasy, the get-rich-flick scheme that you are positive someone with money will eventually produce."

"Stuber is a buddy action-comedy in which Kumail Nanjiani plays a sporting-goods store worker and part-time Uber driver called Stu – thus reprising in lamer form the comedian and part-time Uber driver he gave us in his 2017 movie The Big Sick. Opposite him, Dave Bautista rolls out a broad Mr Magoo turn as Vic, the tough cop rendered almost blind by that morning’s laser eye surgery who must respond to a crime emergency but hilariously can’t drive, and so commandeers wussy Stu in his Uber, riding shotgun in the nerdy beta-male electric car."
